Abstract: In this talk we focus on super-convergence analysis for virtual element discretization of elliptic problem based on projection method. The local $L^2$ projection to another higher order polynomial space with different mesh was applied to the virtual element solution to produce a new and better approximation of the original function $u$. Based on the super-convergence result, a recovery type a posteriori error estimator is proposed, which is shown to be asymptotically exact. Several numerical examples are carried out to illustrate the theoretical findings.
